Elite Athlete Monitoring, Human Traceability & Safety, User Centred Design
Force plate, swimmer node and video analysis are used to assess swimmers movements from dive to turns. Data analysis was conducted to indicate changes in athlete performance and detect imbalances for correction. The EIIS Force plate dive platform provides data relating to the efficiency, power and balance of a swimmers start. The swimmer node uses specialist tracking and on board sensors to detect athlete body movement on the track, in the pool and in the weight room. Characterisation of end users plays an important part in human-cyber physical system design and development. The research conducted by the EIIS team includes requirements analysis, iterative design and a user centred approach.
