Our research investigated the challenges in developing and deploying a traceability system to automatically monitor Returnable Transit Items (RTI)’s within an automotive manufacturing supply chain, using Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Highlights from the project included;

• Designed and implemented an UHF RFID Portal traceability system within a major automotive manufacturing and assembly plant
• Passively tracks movement of RTIs through strategically placed portals
• Cloud based infrastructure which doesn’t impact on existing IT infrastructure
• Analysis and algorithm development to reduce false positive and negative readings
